This year's home-party is to benefit the Boxerwood Education Association (boxerwood.org) a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to “Educate and inspire people of all ages to become environmentally responsible stewards of the Earth.” With over 2,000 children attending programs in 2012, every child in Rockbridge County, at one time or another, will come to Boxerwood to learn about Environmental Stewardship, Alternative Energies and Energy Conservation. Forty percent of Boxerwood's hands-on programs take place along local creeks, rivers and at the Chesapeake Bay with rest at their 15-acre Nature Center & Woodland Garden in Lexington, VA. Open from sunrise to sunset, you will be amazed by "The Garden," hosting over 2,500 specimen trees including significant collections of Dwarf Conifers, Magnolias, Dogwoods, Rhododendrons, Azaleas & Japanese Maples and so much more.
So, let’s “get back to the garden” and raise awareness for Boxerwood!
